Reception have been learning about weddings in different cultures. They discussed similarities and differences in clothing, venues and wedding transport.
Children took part in lots of art and craft. They made various decorations for ‘The Linden Wedding’ which was held on Friday 5th May. The children came to school dressed in clothes that they would wear to a wedding. The children stood by the stage waiting for the bride and groom to arrive (Mr Finch and Mrs Munn). They threw the confetti and jumped with joy when drummers came out into the playground playing their drums. Children circled around them and danced away.
The children then enjoyed the wedding cake and went home with wedding favours.
Some of the comments the children made included:
‘This is the best day ever.’
‘This is so much fun.’
‘My uncle had the same drummers at his wedding.’
‘I wish we could do it all again.’
Reception staff thanked all the parents for their support. The children looked amazing.
