Practical Maths in Year 6

One of our Year 6 Maths sets showed the breadth of their learning in the way they used their skills to solve a problem based on the context of a theatre. They had to use the dimensions to work out how many seats would fit in the theatre, how much the theatre owner would take per performance and whether he would make a profit or a loss each day. They then had to work out how to price the tickets to make a profit of £500 per performance. A fine example of teamwork at its best amongst TLA children.
